The Challenge

In course of rerouting of the bypass road L 640 near to Schöningen two parallel HAMCO circular arch profiles went into action. One of them serves as underpass profile for railway traffic, the other for vehicle traffic of a service road. The assembly of the circular arch profile for the rails was executed without disturbing the railway traffic.

The assembly was made easier thanks to the use of track-mounted, mobile scaffolding. The total assembly of both structures with a total weight of 80 tons took two weeks. The following backfilling was im-plemented with recycling material.
